Atty. Junmar V. Canoy

Atty. Junmar V. Canoy is an experienced corporate, tax, labor and employment lawyer whose practice spans corporate governance, taxation laws, labor and employment relations, contract review and negotiation, data privacy, risk management, and regulatory compliance. With a background in both law and finance, he combines legal precision with business pragmatism, offering strategic counsel that aligns legal frameworks with organizational goals.

He earned his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting from the University of San Carlos and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2017. He began his career at SGV & Co., where he advised multinational and local corporations on complex tax matters and regulatory compliance before joining Bravo Hotel Corporation as Legal Counsel, handling litigation, corporate documentation, and regulatory affairs.

He later practiced with E.B. Ramos and Associates, a Cebu-based law firm known for management-side labor representation, where he handled cases before the NLRC, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court involving illegal dismissal cases, collective bargaining, and industrial policy formulation.

Atty. Canoy likewise served as Legal Counsel, Board Director, Data Protection Officer, and Corporate Secretary of Qualfon Philippines, Inc., a global BPO company with operations across Asia, Mexico, Guyana, and the United States. In this role, he provides strategic legal and regulatory advice on corporate, tax, and labor matters, oversees contract negotiations and compliance, manages litigation, and ensures data privacy governance aligned with local and international standards.

Currently, he is the Corporate Legal Counsel and Data Protection Officer of Chong Hua Hospital advising top management and executives on legal strategy, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance matters. He leads the hospital's data protection function, overseeing privacy compliance programs, managing data-related risks, and ensuring the secure and lawful processing of sensitive personal and health information.
